About Me

My Datsun 510 is a work in progress. I was into Datsun's the day after I was born and this was the car literally rode in. So my interest in cars recently came about when I saw our family's old 510 rusting in a field for the past 25 years, until 2009 when I decided to take it on as my restoration project. Thought I'd start this blog about just different stuff that interests me (not just cars but hobbies too). This car is not for sale nor will it ever be for sale. *If your car is featured here against your wishes or you see incorrect information, please contact me at classicdatsuns@gmail.com , and I will make any necessary changes. Have fun viewing. I am not affiliated with any sponsors, company, or body shop. I'm just a dude that likes Datsuns.

Been Busy But Not With Car

So I'm taking a break from things for a while.  I've been busy with trying to focus on school.  I quit my job to attend college and I picked up a Datsun 810 for a daily.  I'm trying to keep up with maintenance with the 810 but it seems that for my daily commute a 4 cyl would be more practical.  Maybe it's just me, but I actually feel the car is running better than when I bought it.  Since I bought it, I replaced the fuel filter and air filter and got my 14inch rims polished with 70 series instead of 75 series Bridgestone Insignia tires.  I know I'm losing out on power and gas mileage with a smaller series tire but that's the price I'll pay.

The 510 is begging for attention, and it certainly deserves it.  If I can get some money to start powder coating parts and find someone to patch weld rust spots.  Then save up for rubber weather seals and have the engine cleaned and rebuilt.

Aside from that my life is just School School School. Oh well. It's for the greater good.
